Tavuk Göğsü (tah-VOOK ghur-SOO) is a classic Turkish milk pudding that is both simple and profound. Its most striking feature is the use of very finely shredded chicken breast, which is cooked for so long in the milk that it completely disintegrates, leaving no distinct "meat" flavor. Instead, the chicken provides an incredible, unique texture that is unbelievably smooth, dense, and slightly fibrous almost like pulled mozzarella but in a creamy, sweet pudding. Would you try this unique “chicken pudding”? Turkish delicacy, kazandibi, originated in Topkapi Palace in Istanbul where it delighted Ottoman sultans. The traditional treat is a creamy pudding with a caramelised layer, but it has an unexpected ingredient: chicken. Chef and author Julie Lin goes to Turkey to try the pudding. #BBC #BBCTravel #Food #Turkey #TurkeyTravel #Istanbul | BBC Travel

Sweet Chicken Dessert in Istanbul 🇹🇷 I tried this interesting Turkish dessert in Istanbul. Tavukgöğsü is made from shredded chicken breast, milk, sugar, and rice flour, creating a smooth, pudding-like texture. It was said to be a favourite food of Ottoman sultans back in the day. 📍Murat Muhallebicisi, Karamustafapaşa Mah., Halilpaşa Sok.
